Life with pain or illness can be exhausting...

If you are one of the brave ones living with persistent pain or another chronic physical illness, you already know how challenging it can be to manage the day to day. Add in extra stressors like finding sympathetic employers, navigating interpersonal relationships and balancing your own self-care with family obligations and life can easily become overwhelming. This is where I can help.

Because Persistent Pain lives with us, we rarely get a break from it. Disrupted sleep, easily flared emotions, frustration, anger, depression, anxiety, difficulties with relationships, the sense that others don't understand...all of these can tend to have us stop believing in a more wholistic, empowered version of ourselves. As someone who both lives with and works alongside others with Persistent Pain, I know how debilitating this can feel.

I am a Somatic Experiencing-informed Counsellor, as well as a Clinical Pilates instructor. Sessions are designed to help you:

  • Make sense of your pain and explore with curiosity the multiple factors that might be contributing to your experience

  • Improve your sense of well-being by building your resources: physically, emotionally and cognitively

  • Both advocate for yourself and get the support you need

  • Decrease the grip of pain-induced anxiety, stress, physical discomfort and social isolation by expanding the realm of what you hold control over in your life

Depending on your unique situation and preference, sessions may be held online, in our movement studio, or in office (in person).

If pain is part of your life, it is important to work with it: this is where you have the control.
