Life with ongoing pain or illness has many challenges...

“If we could begin to see much illness itself not as a cruel twist of fate or some nefarious mystery but rather as an expected and therefore normal consequence of abnormal, unnatural circumstances, it would have revolutionary implications for how we approach everything health related.”

― Gabor Maté, The Myth of Normal: Trauma, Illness, and Healing in a Toxic Culture

You are not alone in this:

Are you one of the courageous ones living with ongoing pain or illness? Then you already know the challenges and disruptions it can bring to the day to day.

Because our conditions live with us, we rarely get a break from them. Disrupted sleep, easily flared emotions, grief, anger, depression, anxiety, feeling misunderstood by others, relationship challenges...all of these things can easily lead us to taking on a 'less than' view of ourselves. As someone who lives with and works alongside others with a chronic condition, I know how difficult this can feel.

What can Counselling help with?

As a trauma-informed, somatically trained Counsellor, individual sessions with me are designed to help you:

  • Make sense of your condition and bring curiosity and compassion to the table in order to understand all the things that may be contributing to your experience

  • Improve your sense of well-being by building your resources: physically, mentally and emotionally

  • Both advocate for yourself and get the support you need

  • Decrease the grip of pain-induced anxiety, stress, physical discomfort and social isolation by exploring what is truly meaningful to you

  • Help you find ways to live, as defined by YOU, your fullest life

Depending on your unique situation and preference, sessions may be held online, in our movement studio, or in office (in person).
